Argos are one of the UKs leading multi channel retailers of home ware, electronics and consumer goods. They are a well established industry leader and held the record for the most highly visited UK high street retail website in 2008. Needless to say, Argos require little by way of introduction.
As a key piece of website development and customer experience design, Argos asked Zoocha to assist them with the redesign of the Argos.co.uk product pages in order to improve rates of conversion, drive product sales with a particular view to improving the performance of cross-sell products, and to offer a fresh feel to the site whilst still in keeping with Argos.co.uk design guidelines.
Working closely alongside Argos as part of the development project team, Zoocha conducted a full review of leading competitor’s product pages, thus identifying key elements and features which should be incorporated into the redesign.
Three separate categories of merchandise were selected in order to create a vision board of design ideas involving different page elements. For example, Sofa product pages would require a fabric picker mechanism.
Zoocha created fully working HTML prototypes based on the approved PSDs as a method of previewing the new product pages. Within these prototypes, Zoocha were able to add numerous user experience features such as carousels, smooth page scrolling and colour picker integration.
