Paul Smith is global – the collection is wholesaled to thirty five countries and has fourteen shops in England. Paul Smith shops are found in London, Nottingham, Paris, Milan, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, the Philippines, Korea, Kuwait, U.A.E. – and over two hundred throughout Japan. Optimistic is the new fragrance for men and women from Paul Smith. The name for the fragrance comes from Paul’s personal spirit which is very much about individuality and being optimistic.
Zoocha were approached late in the development cycle of the Paul Smith Optimistic campaign by Latimer Digital, to assist with the Facebook application development of the project that has fallen behind schedule. Zoocha’s role was to fix the outstanding bugs, missing functionality and try to enhance the application where we saw fit using our deep knowledge of the Facebook API.
Similar in concept to the Swiftcover Summer Mourning campaign, Zoocha were able to use their expertise to bring the application up to the standard that you would expect from the Paul Smith brand.
- Full Facebook integration with auto-posting to wall, shares / likes, retrieval of the correct permissions and Facebook sign-in
- Open Graph integration to allow for rich news stream shares
- Capability to order user submissions by the number of “likes” that they had received
- Auto-image re-sizing and full image moderation.
With over 2500 entries, and generating several thousand “likes” for the Paul Smith Optimistic brand page, the application turned out to be a resounding success after a less than ideal start.
