Working for Zoocha has its benefits; one of those benefits is our changing array of products available. Part of the expansion of products is the market research involved in assuring we are going in the right direction. I have been asked to compile a short-list of the top off-the-shelf apps out there and rate them accordingly.
Social media applications have dominated the usage of many user experiences; the growing number of users and subscribers to social media sites has become so great that they are ever more becoming the fabric of everyday life.
With Facebook being the main contender in online apps with a user base of nearly 800 million worldwide, competitors like twitter and Google + fall behind in popularity and with barely to no applications in the platforms.
Facebook holding technological superiority over rival’s Facebook holds its consistent advantage over its competitors and establishes itself well in the online market as the biggest…and arguably the best.
Facebook topping the online scales with over 800 million users worldwide as compared to twitter with 500 million and Google plus with just one million, the focus is on Facebook and its online app store something its rivals do not posses. Marketing structures I focused on was a monopolistic type structure where there are many producers of similar products so like photo applications which are what we aim to release.
Popularity of the app: looking at the available data and seeing how many downloads, likes, shares the app has received gives us a clear view of who wants the application and who is using it. These factors aid the eventual decisions by a user to download with popularity comes the user trust. Popularity of the application drives the user’s friends, friends of friends etc to be interested by seeing what the hype is about. Without being directly competitive (monopolistic) with other markets applications run off the user base it builds and attempts to keep and grow this with slightly different products.
Performance: using our own Facebook as guinea pigs and downloading some applications to test gave us an idea of what the application can do.
Focusing on Facebook and Facebook application store and third party stores we at Zoocha have been testing applications and have compiled a short list of our top five off the shelf applications.
